How to Use the Wheel Spinner

Building a custom wheel takes less than a minute. Here is the short version:

  1. Pick a starting point. Tap a preset like Yes/No, Colors, or Food Picker — or clear the wheel and start fresh.
  2. Add your entries. Use Single Entry for one name at a time. Use Number Range to generate a run like 1 to 50 in one click. Or use Bulk Paste to drop in a whole list — one name per line, with an optional weight after a comma.
  3. Adjust weights. Each entry has a "×N" multiplier. Higher weights give an entry a bigger slice and a higher chance of winning. Perfect when some options deserve better odds.
  4. Choose your spin mode. Turn on Remove winner after spin for elimination-style drawings, 3-2-1 countdown for a bit of suspense, or Best of 3 for a tournament feel.
  5. Spin the wheel. Press the button, press the Spacebar, or click the wheel itself. The winner appears in the modal with a share button and a copy-to-clipboard action.
💡 Pro tip
For a live stream or video giveaway, turn on both 3-2-1 countdown and Remove winner after spin. The countdown builds suspense, and elimination mode ensures you can pick multiple winners in one session without repeats. Export the entries as JSON afterward to keep a permanent record of the participant list.

When people actually use a wheel spinner

This tool is surprisingly flexible. Some of the most common real-world uses:

How the random selection works

The wheel uses your browser's Math.random() function to pick the winning slice. Weighted entries get proportionally larger slices, so an entry with weight 3 is three times as likely to win as an entry with weight 1.

Once the winner is chosen, the code calculates the exact rotation needed to bring that slice to the top of the wheel — and adds a small random offset within the slice so the pointer does not always land dead-centre. That is why the wheel looks natural on every spin, while the underlying selection stays perfectly random.

Every spin result is recorded in your browser's local history. You can review the last 50 spins, per-entry statistics, and how many times each entry has won. Nothing is uploaded — the entire state lives in localStorage and can be cleared at any time.

Why we built this tool

Most online wheel spinners are covered in ads, block the useful features (weights, elimination mode, exports) behind a paywall, or force you to sign in. We wanted something clean: fast, private, and professional enough to run a real giveaway on.

Everything runs in your browser. There is no login, no analytics on your entries, and no server-side processing. You can even use it offline once the page has loaded. If you spot a bug, or you want a new preset added for a specific use case — like a "movie night" or "where to travel" wheel — drop us a note using the contact link below.

Reviewed and maintained

This wheel spinner was tested across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge before publication. The randomization logic, canvas rendering, and elimination mode were verified against 10,000 simulated spins. If you spot a bug, or you want to suggest a new preset wheel, please send us the details so we can fix it. Last reviewed: October 2026.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add entries to the wheel?▾
You have three ways. Use Single Entry to add one name at a time with an optional weight. Use Number Range to generate a run of numbers like 1 to 50 for a raffle. Or use Bulk Paste to add many names at once, one per line — you can even attach a weight to each name by writing it after a comma, like "Bob,3".
What does the weight of an entry do?▾
Weight controls how likely an entry is to be picked. An entry with weight 2 is twice as likely to be selected as an entry with weight 1, and its wheel slice grows to match. This is useful when you want some options to have a higher chance — for example, giving a VIP customer two tickets in the draw, or making the "maybe" option on a Yes/No wheel less likely.
Can I remove the winner after each spin?▾
Yes. Turn on elimination mode with the toggle below the spin button. After each spin, the winning entry is automatically removed from the wheel, so you can draw multiple winners in a row without any repeats. This is perfect for raffles, classroom calling, and multi-round contests. If only one entry remains, it stays on the wheel and is declared the final winner.
Does the wheel spinner store or share my entries?▾
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser. Entries, weights, stats, and spin history are stored in your own localStorage — nothing is sent to any server. If you clear your browser data, the wheel resets to a default preset. You can also export your entries as a JSON file for backup before clearing your browser.
Can I use this wheel for giveaways on social media?▾
Absolutely. Bulk-paste your list of participants, turn on elimination mode, and use tournament mode if you want a best-of-N winner. After the spin, the winner modal gives you a clean screenshot-ready view, and you can share or download the result. Many streamers use it live during giveaways because it works entirely offline and produces a shareable proof image.
Is the spin result really random?▾
Yes. The wheel uses Math.random() to pick the winning slice, then animates the wheel to land on that slice with a small random offset so the pointer doesn't always stop in the exact middle. This gives a natural feel while keeping the underlying selection truly random and unbiased. Weighted entries get proportionally larger slices, so their probability scales with their weight.
