Drop a PDF into the upload box. Then add text or images and drag them anywhere on the page.
Drag the item to move it. Use the corner handles to resize. Press Delete to remove.
A PDF is a finished document. Unlike a Word file, you can't just click a paragraph and start typing — the content is locked into the page. So "adding to a PDF" means drawing new content on top of the existing page, without touching what's already there.
This is how professional PDF editors work under the hood. They don't edit the original text — they overlay new elements. The page underneath stays byte-for-byte identical. What changes is what you see when you open the file: your new text or image sits on top of the existing content like a transparent layer.
That's exactly what this tool does. You place text or an image anywhere on the page, drag it into position, resize and rotate it, and the result is baked into a new PDF that looks the way you set it up.
| Type | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Notes, labels, dates, names, page headers, correction notes, signatures as typed names, "Received" stamps, "Approved" labels | Six standard fonts, any color, size 8–120pt, multi-line |
| Image | Logos, stamps, QR codes, screenshots, seals, charts, diagrams, photos, small illustrations | PNG, JPG, WebP. Any size. Rotatable. Opacity adjustable. |
The two modes are independent — you can mix them freely. A single page can have a company logo in the corner, a typed date at the top, and a "CONFIDENTIAL" stamp across the middle, all as separate items you can adjust individually.
These three tools overlap, so here's the honest breakdown:
| Task | Best tool | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Sign a contract | Sign PDF | Purpose-built for signatures — draw, type, or upload with the right defaults and signature pad |
| Stamp DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL across every page | Add Watermark | Has tiled layout and applies to all pages in one click |
| Add a logo to the corner of every page | Add Watermark (Corner mode) | Optimized for repeated placement |
| Add a note, date, or label on one specific page | Add Text/Image (this tool) | Precise per-page placement without needing to pick "all pages" |
| Insert a chart or screenshot into a report | Add Text/Image | Designed for arbitrary content at arbitrary positions |
| Add a form reference code in the top corner | Add Text/Image | Precise positioning is the whole point |
Every item has a fixed position on a specific page. Items don't follow you to other pages. If you add text on page 3, it stays on page 3 — the tool will hide it when you're viewing page 4.
This is intentional. A "date" belongs on the date line. A "signature" belongs where the signature goes. A "chart" belongs on the page that references it. If you want an item on multiple pages, add it separately to each page.
If you do want the same content repeated on every page, use the Add Watermark tool instead. That one is purpose-built for repeated placement.
Most online PDF editors ask you to upload your file to their server. Your documents sit on someone else's computer while you work on them. For a personal note, that's fine. For a signed contract, a legal filing, or a client deliverable, it's a serious privacy risk.
This tool works differently. Everything runs inside your browser. The PDF is opened directly from your device's storage, your items are drawn in memory, and the modified PDF is written back out. No upload, no server, nothing to leak.
Items are placed at the center of the page you're viewing. If you're looking at page 1 and the item was added to page 5, it won't be visible. Check the page navigation — the toolbar shows how many pages the current file has.
Select the text item and use the "Size" slider in the item controls panel below the preview. Or drag a corner handle to make the whole bounding box bigger — for text, this scales the font size proportionally.
Your image is a JPG. JPG doesn't support transparency, so any "white" background is baked into the file. Use a PNG with a transparent background instead. Most design tools export transparent PNGs easily.
The item rotates around its center point. If you had positioned it by its corner, the visible position will shift slightly as the rotation kicks in. To fix: rotate first, then drag to the final position.
The text box has a fixed width based on your font size and character count. If text is too long, it wraps to multiple lines. To make it wider, increase the font size (which increases the box height) or add line breaks manually in the text area.
Yes. Click the item to select it, then press Delete (or Backspace) on your keyboard, or click the red ✕ button in the corner. The item disappears immediately. To remove everything, click "Clear All Items" in the sidebar.

Yes. Here's exactly what happens when you use this tool:
At no point does the file or the content leave your device. No data is sent to SkillsInsider's servers. No tracking cookies watch your edits. You can prove it yourself: turn off Wi-Fi after the page loads, then add text to a PDF. It still works perfectly.
